Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure used to eliminate varicose veins and spider veins. This treatment involves an injection of a solution (generally a salt solution) directly into the vein. The solution irritates the lining of the blood vessel, causing it to collapse and stick together and the blood to clot.

Treatment

Sclerotherapy is an in-office procedure performed on smaller surface veins. A chemical injection irritates the walls of the veins, causing them to thicken and close over time. Each  session builds upon the results of the previous session. Most patients undergo 2 to 3  sessions spaced 1 month apart in order to obtain optimum results.
