Emsella. Treatment for Incontinence.
Tired of the Inconvenience?
Annoying. Embarrassing. Frustrating. These are just a few words that describe the feelings those suffering with the daily struggles of incontinence have.
There may now be a solution for you! Sit and experience this breakthrough treatment for incontinence. Emsella® is an easy and comfortable option for men and women of any age who desire a non-invasive solution for urinary incontinence. Due to factors such as the body’s normal aging, childbirth, menopause, prostate issues, or obesity, the pelvic floor muscles weaken and are insufficiently unable to support the pelvic organs. These factors directly correlate with urinary incontinence. The goal of Emsella treatments is to help men and women reclaim their body and restore quality of life. Over 200 million people worldwide are affected by incontinence. Are you one of them?
-
Do you leak urine when you laugh, sneeze, cough or engage in certain high impact sports activities and exercise?
-
Do you need to go to the bathroom often? Is your sleep disrupted by the urge to urinate?
-
Has the fear of embarrassment from leaking affected your intimate life?
If you answered “yes”, you are probably suffering from urinary incontinence. Emsella is the first device of its kind, and is FDA cleared to treat both men and women for urinary incontinence. One Emsella session is the equivalent of 11,200 Kegels.
How it works

When Should I Expect Results
Most patients see improvement after six sessions, scheduled twice a week. You may observe improvement after a few sessions depending on the severity of your condition. This treatment works best on grades 0-1 level of urinary incontinence. Some patients get worse for a short time before they see improvement. Some patients may need more treatments depending on the severity of their condition. The results vary from person to person, and an exact result cannot be predicted.
With a healthy pelvic floor some additional benefits when using emsella that patients are describing are:
- the temporary increase of local circulation for those struggling with erectile dysfunction
- not waking in the night to use the bathroom
- the ability to participate with confidence in aerobic and exercise activities
- Sexual Rejuvenation-tightening the pelvic floor can increase sensitivity during intercourse
BTL Emsella works by regenerating and rejuvenating tissue in the vaginal canal and pelvic floor muscles, making it perfect for also treating sexual issues caused by loss of muscle and tissue tone.
Vaginal laxity (a feeling of looseness in the vaginal canal and around the opening of the vagina) is common in postnatal and postmenopausal women due to strain on the tissue in the vaginal canal or the loss of oestrogen and collagen in the body. In both cases, cell regeneration and an improvement in muscle tone in the area – caused by BTL Emsella treatment – can help to treat vaginal laxity by lifting, tightening and boosting the tissues.
Vaginal laxity can also trigger several other issues, including a loss of sensation for both partners during sex, feelings of vaginal dryness and chafing, pain during sex and difficulty becoming aroused or reaching orgasm in women, all of which can make your sex life less satisfying and reduce the confidence of many women over time.
BTL Emsella can reduce vaginal laxity by tightening and strengthening tissues in the vaginal walls, as well as around the vaginal opening to improve your confidence and give you back control over your sex life
Scientific research shows that 95% of treated patients have reported significant improvement in the quality of life. Read more about the study here.
Treatment Plan
Emsella’s FDA-approved treatment schedule includes 6 initial sessions, each 28 minutes in length. Prior to beginning your first session, you will be offered an incontinence survey to establish a baseline for how incontinence is affecting your quality of life. This survey will be repeated throughout your journey, viewed as an important metric to document your improvement.
Duration of Results
Studies show continuing improvement over time after the initial 6-treatment sessions are completed. Maintenance sessions are recommended for optimum results, so that the pelvic floor muscles stay toned and effective. You will make a personalized maintenance schedule with our Wellness Coordinator upon the completion of your 6th Emsella treatment. Typical maintenance schedules have patients returning for one-28 minute session approximately every six months.
Because multiple factors can affect individual results, such as BMI (body mass index), initial severity of incontinence, etc., it is imperative to journal/document your personal results. Our goal at Virginia Vein & Wellness is to help you have a significant improvement in your quality of life.
