Meet Our Team

Dr. Michael Richmond is originally from Columbia, Louisiana. He completed his undergraduate studies at Northeast Louisiana University (now known as University of Louisiana, Monroe) and continued on to Louisiana Tech University, earning a Master’s degree in Biology. Next, he obtained his medical degree at Louisiana State University. Dr. Richmond then moved to Richmond, VA and completed his residency and fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Sciences Center in Cardiac Anesthesiology. He is board-certified in echocardiography.

Dr. Richmond has 10+ plus years of experience in Cardiac Anesthesiology. In addition to Dr. Richmond’s cardiac anesthesiology experience, his additional specialty areas include level-one trauma, labor epidural and spinal injection, conscious sedation, difficulty airway management and ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia. His excellency with ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia has made for an easy transition into therapeutic venous procedures and treating venous disease.

He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology and the Society of Cardiac Anesthesiology. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.

Dr. Richmond met his wife, Amy (Loflin), a Lynchburg native, during his time at VCU. They returned to Lynchburg in 2013 and have 3 kids and 2 dogs. In addition to serving the community through his medical practice, Dr. Richmond and his family enjoy snow skiing, playing tennis and supporting their kids’ school community at New Covenant Schools.

Amy Richmond was born in Lynchburg, VA at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She graduated from James Madison University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2003. She worked at VCU Health Systems in the medical respiratory ICU (2003-2007). She continued her education at Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in 2009. Amy then worked at Carilion until 2013 and then moved her expertise to Lynchburg General Hospital where she continues to work today.

When Amy is not busy at the office or working as a taxi driver for her three children, she enjoys relaxing with a good book and her favorite cocktail. Amy is very passionate about wellness and physical activity, being an avid tennis player herself.

Brittany is our Nurse Practitioner who is a Lynchburg native. She studied nursing at Lynchburg College, working a majority of her nursing career in emergency medicine. She late obtained her Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner credential at Walden University and worked in both emergency medicine and neurology after graduation. Since starting at Virginia Vein and Wellness Center, she has assisted in the opening of the female hormone clinic in addition to evaluating and treating vein patients. Brittany will also be seeing migraine and weight loss patients in the near future! Some of her passions within the medical field are individuals with migraines and hormone balances as she too has suffered from those conditions.

Outside of work, you will find Brittany incredibly busy as she has a small farm with chickens, large gardens, an orchard, and a dog (Odie) and cat (Willow). She also has three young boys who are the joy of her life!

DeAnna is a registered nurse who is passionate about assisting her clients to form a treatment plan to meet their health and wellness goals. Her primary focus in our office is mainly IV therapy and BTL aesthetics. DeAnna was born in northeast Tennessee and attended East Tennessee State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Since then, she has practiced in a variety of healthcare settings throughout her career including Labor and Delivery, Pediatrics, and General Surgery with an emphasis on PreOp/IV placement.

DeAnna now resides in Lynchburg with her husband. They have two adult sons who are currently pursing their education at James Madison University and University of Tennessee. During her free time, she is always outside, whether it is hiking in the mountains, working in the yard, or walking her dog to the park.

Nicole is a diagnostic medical sonographer from Nelson County, VA. She graduated in 2016 from Piedmont Community College in Charlottesville, VA. She is a triple registered sonographer through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Not only does she have credentials for vascular sonography, she is also credentialed in general and OB/GYN ultrasound.

Nicole is very passionate about her career and will continue advancing and learning within her field. She has a daughter named Brooklyn and enjoys being outdoors, especially in the summer.

Janet England, Licensed Massage Therapist, was born in Maryland and grew up in Bedford, VA. Janet graduated from Miller-Motte Technical College in 2013 and became licensed as a massage therapist. She specializes in Therapeutic Massage techniques assisting with pain management and the reduction of muscular issues.

When not providing excellent massage therapy care, Janet enjoys hiking, swimming, cats and dogs, and the seclusion of nature itself.

As a Licensed Massage Therapist, Holly brings her training from Sylvain Melloul International Hair Academy School of Massage to help clients find relief and relaxation. Born in Reston, VA, and raised in Calvert County, MD, she has always had a passion for helping others. With continued education in managing chronic pain, anxiety, and lower back pain, Holly is committed to providing tailored care for every client. Therapeutic and Deep Tissue massages are her preferred styles.

Outside of work, Holly is a mom to four energetic, loving, wild kids. She enjoys reconnecting with her artistic roots through drawing and painting, a passion that has stayed with her since childhood.

Sharayah was born in Rochester, NY and moved to Lynchburg, VA after high school for her college experience. After graduating from Liberty University in 2020 with a Public Health: Pre-Clinical degree, she started working in the health and wellness field at Virginia Vein and Wellness Center as the Patient Coordinator and Social Media Manager. Sharayah is passionate about helping others achieve their health goals and providing a comfortable and inviting environment for anyone who enters our building.

Sharayah recently became a new mom to her daughter, Noah, in May of 2024. She loves spending time with her family and friends and also enjoys long walks, nutrition, and music.
